  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    *not_secure_link*www.news.com.au/na...-of-a-gun-crisis/story-fncynjr2-1226690018325

THERE is a gun battle going on in Australia. As bikie gang members and drug dealers gun each other down on a regular basis, sending fear through the community, authorities seem to be fighting a losing battle to keep firearms out of their hands.

Without scaremongering, here are the facts:

    * There have been 39 people shot in Sydney this year, most related to an ongoing bikie war.

    * Conservative estimates say there are more than a quarter-of-a-million illegal firearms in Australia.

    * Gun ownership in Australia is back at pre-Port Arthur massacre levels.

    * Carrying a gun is becoming more common and ingrained in outlaw culture.

    * Gun amnesties barely put a dent in the number of weapons.

    * Innocent people are being caught up in gun battles.

    * There has been a steady increase in gun-related crimes over the past seven years.

    But ..

    * Our rate of gun-related deaths is decreasing. Latest figures show guns account for just 1.06 deaths per 100,000 compared to 10.3 per 100,000 in the United States.

So far this year, there have been 39 people shot on Sydney's streets. Fourteen of those were in July. Two men were shot dead this week. One had survived another shooting just days before being killed.

The carnage has prompted NSW Police Commissioner Andrew Scipione to call for judges to impose tougher sentences for gun crime, saying some offenders are getting off with fines.

I didn't say it doesn't happen down here, criminals and outlaw gangs will always get their hands on guns.

I'd guarantee that if we had a referendum asking the public if they wanted to relax the gun laws 80% of the population would vote, No.

    *not_secure_link*www.breitbart.com/...ws-but-gun-crime-in-sydney-is-out-of-control/

As former Australian politician Tim Fischer turns the shooting of Christopher Lane into an opportunity to push a travel boycott until the U.S. changes its gun laws, police in Sydney launched “a new plan to tackle out-of-control gun violence” there.

The new action against gun violence was launched on August 21 and will pull together various police-sponsored gun control operations into one. The name of the new effort is Operation Talon.

According to the Ballina Shire Advocate, “over 9,000 guns have been taken off New South Wales (NSW) streets and 3352 people have charged” during previous operations in the last 12 months alone.

NSW police commissioner Andrew Scipione explained: “There is no single source of gun violence… guns have fallen into the hands of organized crime, outlaw motorcycle gangs, mid-level crime groups and petty thieves and the lines are often blurred.”

Not ironically, Australia implemented a massive purge of guns in 1996, which included bans on “assault weapons” and other semi-automatic rifles and shotguns. They also did forced buybacks and then entered into a strict licensing and registration agreement where certain single-shot rifles and similar firearms could be owned but only if the owner provided justification for the possession of such a weapon.

Yet 17 years after the implementation of gun control schemes that are very similar in many ways to those being pushed by Sens. Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), Joe Manchin (D-WV), and Chuck Schumer (D-NY), the NSW police department is launching a new operation to rein in gun violence.

The lesson: criminals do not pay attention to gun bans. They never have and they never will.

and since "guns" are not banned there i doubt that the 80% would ever be reached
but why not put it up to a vote?
such a travesty that the people never had that choice

I'm more than capable of thinking for myself and putting my own point of view.

No where have I lumped your law abiding gun carrying citizens in with the criminals.

but they are illegal there so how did they seize them?
see that is how it works
    criminals do not fucking care
and do not forget that i have those very types of rifles
most have never been and never will be fired

but you also forget to think about things like the man in houston that used an ak-47 to fend off 4 would be burglars while his neighbors heard nothing
and again this thread was based on a criminals actions
    so when does it end?
when do you all stop posting the same bullshit about the actions of criminals?
i can keep posting your "bikie" crimes

Just to satisfy my curiosity, I Googled Australian law on involuntary commitment of the mentally ill. It appears that your laws are must more lenient toward this way of getting the mentally ill person away from the general population. Here we have a totally different set of laws, a person can not be committed without his/her consent, or a lengthy and complex process must be followed and a judge renders a ruling ordering it.

This was done because of civil liberties activists campaigning against unjustified commitment, so typically we now just wait until they kill a few people, then we commit them for treatment, or let them go on insanity pleas.

Ask those dead Marines(Semper Fi RIP) where they stand and would still stand on gun rights. I know without a doubt they would tell you too fuck off and keep your shit stained hands off the rights Marines protect.

I can put a bullet through a dime at 2,200 meters with a single shot weapon. Plently of time to reload and make 10 or 12 more shots before all the targets disperse.

You haven't a clue how he got the gun, what kind it was, or if he was even the person to procure the weapon. Without this info you don't know what you're talking about and may be better served shutting the fuck up until you do know. Our gun laws are not lax, but again, you don't know, so again better off to shut the fuck up. Funny how someone that evolved from an island of criminals wants to judge how others conduct their business.
